An article in Revolution, the magazine of business and marketing in the digital economy, reports that Virgin Atlantic has launched two new websites. Its frequent fliers' newsletter i-fly is now also available online ( www.iflyvirginatlantic.com/), and a new microsite promotes their member-get-member scheme milesmorefriends ( www.milesmorefriends.com/). Both were written, designed and developed by Start Design.
i-fly online offers flying club members news, competitions, exclusive offers and editorial features and should make contacting inactive members more cost effective.
The milesmorefriends microsite allows flying club members to send greetings cards to friends offering them the chance to join, earning both the member and their friends rewards into the bargain.
According to Becky Gigg, Virgin Atlantic's customer communications manager "initial feedback has been extremely positive, with several members commenting on the value of the microsite."
