Mike Curtis, along with Darren Whittingham, founded Start in January 1996.
Mike is deeply involved in directing work across the company's client base, particularly during the strategic and conceptual stages of projects. His key strength is an instinctive understanding of brands, which enables him to structure communication plans around clients’ business requirements.
Before Start, Mike worked closely with Rodney Fitch for Virgin and Burton Group companies, and on brands as diverse as Southern Electric, Access, ING Bank (The Netherlands), Thrifty Drugstores (US), Kregbaum and Hornbach (Germany), Woolworths and Ford.
Having led Start into the Design Week list of the top ten independents, he suggests the agency and its clients have only just scratched the surface of what can be achieved together.
