Start recognises that community investment is often the most visible aspect of a company's Social Responsibility programme.
Start understands that community investment can also take the form of charitable donations, the giving of staff time and skills, or donations in kind to various bodies including charities, educational establishments, and local regeneration and arts organisations.
In 2002 we created an online picture gallery for the National Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children (NSPCC) as supported by Virgin Atlantic Airways. This extraordinary website was designed to showcase the results of the NSPCC's worldwide photographic competition, Through the Eyes of a Child. It features the best submissions from 1,000 children aged between three and 13 who were given cameras to explore their creativity.
Through the Eyes of a Child won a CiB award of excellence for best non profit website in 2003, the Gold Award for Overall Web Design at the 2002 New York Festival Awards. It was also a 2002 finalist in the Interactive: Internet Sites category at Epica, Europe's premier creative awards, alongside creative work for Diesel and Levi's.
