Our view has always been that writing is the basis of successful communication. Having our own team not only guarantees a flow of ideas but provides the basis for complex, multi-layered, cross-media communications.
 
We encourage individual writers to take ownership from the first client briefing session to the final delivery of a project. This has resulted in a cabinet full of trophies for creativity and effectiveness.
 
A set of coaching materials written by Start Creative for the Virgin group, has been selected for the latest D&AD Annual in the Writing for Design category. Presented in the form of a toolkit - literally a toolkit! - the main component is a DIY manual. Using the simplest of techniques, type on paper, the manual inspires the Virgin workforce to think differently, take risks and be decisive.
 
Writing comes more easily when you have something to say, which is why we make a point of hiring interesting people. Members of our team have written the definitive works on artificial chamois leathers, intelligent buildings, visions and divine wonders of the first crusade, goat's cheese, technical brushes, fuel oil bunker analysis and The Anti-Nowhere League.
